Working Locally
December 2012
Working on projects within your local community provides greater satisfaction that working further afield. During December, Brown 2 Green Associates worked closely with a prestigious local firm of architects and surveyors on an extension to classroom facilities at a local school. A geotechnical and geo-environmental investigation was required for the foundation design and waste classification of excess soil. Brown 2 Green wish the school success with their expansion plans.

Contaminated Land Site Investigation in West Sussex
November 2012
During October and November, Brown 2 Green Associates have been active on a number of sites throughout East Anglia and West Sussex. Acting on behalf of a housing association that provides social housing across the country, Brown 2 Green Associates undertook a contaminated land site investigation to assess the environmental liability associated with the site. The site had previously been used as a commercial nursery and a haulage yard. The desk study identified a risk from methane and carbon dioxide due to a landfill located 50m from the site. To enhance the risk assessment, contact was made with the council to obtain the results of a site investigation and gas monitoring that had been completed on the landfill site.
